About Us

After Todd's professional motocross career came to an end with his crash, he now sits behind a desk working for a concrete cutting company. I dropped my job working with paralyzed clients in a gym setting and now work as a social worker for persons with developmental disabilities. Todd and I are constantly cracking each other up. We think we are the funniest people we know (and it's totally true). The joy he brings me is unexplainable and he is my best friend. I admire Todd for the struggles he's been through and hardship he now faces with being in a wheel chair and unable to walk. He is in constant pain from his injury, yet finds a way to put on a happy face in order to love me and others well. I think it takes patience, understanding, and a humble heart to love on someone in his situation, and I am so thankful I've been given the opportunity to spend my life with this man. We are blessed to have each other and are truly a perfect match.

How We Met

I (Amanda) was working as a therapist at a paralysis recovery center; Project Walk in Carlsbad, California. Todd suffered a dirt bike crash in October 2014 and became paralyzed from the chest down. He ventured out to Project Walk from his home in Elyria, Ohio in October 2015 to receive therapy in hopes to regain back some function. Todd had a crush on me and called me the "cute therapist", and I found him so handsome but was so afraid to be unprofessional and hit on a client. Thankfully Todd got the drunken courage on Halloween night 2015 to confess his attraction for me. When he was done with therapy in summer 2016, he moved back to Ohio. I decided I couldn't do long distance and knew I wanted to be with him, so I picked up and moved cross country.

The Proposal

He set up a pregnancy announcement shoot and proposed to me on January 22, 2017 in Amherst, Ohio.

Why We Should Win

In more exciting news, we are PREGNANT! Doctors had said it would be nearly impossible to conceive naturally due to Todd's injury, but here we are, 14 weeks pregnant. With a baby on the way, we shouldn't be spending loads of money on my dream wedding. I believe our love is something to be celebrated and I would love for the day to be perfect. Also, having it in Orange County would be so convenient because that's where I grew up and California is where we fell in love! We would be so grateful to win this.

Our Charity: Make-A-Wish International

I have seen struggle first hand when I worked at Probect Walk and have seen this charity to bring such joy and happiness to the lucky ones that are chosen. The trips and experiences Make a Wish provides are ones talked about for a lifetime.
